Vineyard Wind and GE Vernova have begun controlled cutting activities on a damaged turbine blade off the coast of Massachusetts. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement issued an updated Suspension Order allowing Vineyard Wind to install towers and nacelles. Vineyard Wind CEO Klaus S. Møller mentioned the focus on safety and action plan to secure the damaged blade. Det Norske Veritas performed an independent structural load analysis. Turbine components, including tower sections and a nacelle, will be transported by the Foss Prevailing Wind barge from the New Bedford Marine Commerce terminal to the site.
