Webb, RetuRo: SGR is the foundation of the circular economy – over 350 mln. recipients returned to date

The Guarantee-Return system (SGR) is the foundation of the circular economy in Romania. Gemma Webb, CEO of ReturRO, mentioned that Romanian consumers have returned over 350 million recipients with the SGR symbol. The system includes counting and sorting centers for glass, plastic, and aluminum packaging, with advanced technology. They process and sell materials to recyclers, contributing to the circular economy. RetuRo plans to open more centers across Romania. Cooperation among stakeholders is crucial for the success of the project, as it faces challenges in implementation and logistics efficiency.
