Wood Thilsted gets foundation design contract on 1.5-GW Outer Dowsing

Wood Thilsted, a UK-based wind engineering consultancy, will act as the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) wind turbine foundation designer for the 1.5-GW Outer Dowsing offshore wind project in the UK. Outer Dowsing, located off the coast of Lincolnshire in England, is being developed by TotalEnergies, Corio Generation, Macquarie Asset Management, and Gulf Energy Development. The project aims to have up to 100 turbines with a targeted start-up by 2030. Wood Thilsted has completed the first phase of work and will proceed with the second phase of the FEED work, focusing on the design of primary and secondary structures, engineering studies, technical documentation, and cost modeling. The firm is known for its expertise in monopile design in the Southern North Sea.
