World’s largest solar plant goes online in China

China Green Electricity Investment of Tianjin, a subsidiary of China Green Development Group (CGDG), has commissioned the 3.5 GW Midong PV farm in Urumqi, China's Xinjiang region, which is currently the world's largest solar plant. Huanghe Hydropower Development operated a 2.2 GW solar park in October 2020. China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp and Power Construction Corporation of China carried out the construction. The installation required an investment of CNY 15.45 billion.
