World’s largest solar plant goes online in China

China Green Electricity Investment of Tianjin has completed the 3.5 GW Midong PV farm in Urumqi, China's Xinjiang region, becoming the world's largest solar plant. The project was constructed by China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp and Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina). CGDG, a major energy investment entity, aims to achieve over 20 GW of renewable energy installations by 2024.
