World’s largest solar plant goes online in China

China Green Electricity Investment of Tianjin, a subsidiary of China Green Development Group (CGDG), has commissioned the 3.5 GW Midong PV farm, the world's largest solar plant, in Xinjiang, China. The project was constructed by China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp and Power Construction Corporation of China. It involved an investment of CNY 15.45 billion and features advanced PV panels. CGDG, managed by SASAC, aims to achieve over 20 GW of renewable energy installations by 2024.
