World’s largest solar plant goes online in China

China Green Electricity Investment of Tianjin, a subsidiary of China Green Development Group (CGDG), has completed the world's largest solar plant by switching on the 3.5 GW Midong PV farm in Xinjiang, China. This project involved investments from Huanghe Hydropower Development, China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp, and Power Construction Corporation of China. CGDG, managed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, aims to reach 20 GW of renewable energy installations by 2024.
