Zambia set for 60 MW/20 MWh of solar, storage

Turkey's YEO is collaborating with Zambia's GEI Power to construct a 60 MW/20 MWh solar plant with battery storage in Choma district, southern Zambia. This pioneering facility, first of its kind in Zambia valued at $65 million, is set to power 65,000 households and planned to commence operations by September 2025. The project includes substantial initial assessments and aims to alleviate power shortages in Zambia.
