Zimbabwe proceeds with 5 MW solar plant

The Infrastructure and Development Bank of Zimbabwe has approved the development of a 5 MW solar plant in Gutu, southern Zimbabwe. The project was initially planned for a 20 MW plant but was relocated and scaled down. The bank will now look for an engineering, procurement, and construction contractor to implement the project. Zimbabwe aims to increase its renewable energy capacity, with recent approval for a $45 million fund for solar projects.
