Acen Australia is developing the 600MW Birriwa solar-plus-storage project in New South Wales, Australia. The project includes a 600MW/1,200MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) and will be located in the NSW Central-West Orana region. The project aims to provide grid stability services, backup capacity, and capture excess electricity. Construction will last 28 months with an average workforce of 360, while operations will require up to 20 employees. The project will be adjacent to other solar projects by Acen Australia and will connect to new transmission infrastructure by Energy Corporation of NSW.
