1,200MWh solar-plus-storage project in New South Wales receives Federal government approval

Acen Australia is constructing a 200MW/400MWh BESS at New England Solar and a 600MW Birriwa solar-plus-storage project in New South Wales. The Birriwa project has received federal approval and will feature a 600MW/1,200MWh centralised BESS. The projects aim to boost renewables capacity, create jobs, and support the local economy. Tanya Plibersek opposes the idea of nuclear energy in favor of renewable energy transition.
