The government of Australia granted approval for a 300MW solar PV power plant in north Queensland. The Cambridge Solar Farm by Cambridge JMD Australia, a subsidiary of Cambridge RE Partners, is located near a proposed REZ in Queensland. Plans include a potential battery energy storage system. Site preparation begins in late 2025 with completion expected by late 2026. Tanya Plibersek, Australia's minister for the environment and water, emphasizes the renewable energy push over nuclear energy.
