The Australia Institute's research suggests reconfiguring off-peak hot water systems could prevent 4,000GWh of curtailed solar PV and wind energy on the National Electricity Market (NEM), potentially saving up to AUS$6 billion in household electricity costs by 2040. This measure could help mitigate grid restrictions and reduce forced curtailment.
