500 MW solar-plus-storage project faces legal threat in UK

One of the largest solar and storage development projects in the UK faces a legal challenge from local governments. The Sunnica Energy Farm solar plus storage project, with a grid connection of up to 500 MW, was approved by Secretary of State for Energy Ed Miliband against local opposition. The project consists of a 621-hectare solar park and 33 hectares for battery storage in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. Local councils are considering legal action due to additional costs. Sunnica declined to comment.
