69 MWp agrivoltaic project underway in Rhineland-Palatinate

Agrivoltaics combining PV generation and livestock farming are being implemented in Bruttig-Fankel, Germany. A large-scale project with high module structures allowing cows to graze underneath is being developed by REG Energy Engineering. The system features innovative design, with cold-rolled and galvanized posts and beams, enabling efficient assembly and material saving. This project is one of the largest agrivoltaic initiatives in Europe, covering 34 hectares with 4,700 PV structures. The farm expects improved water supply and animal welfare due to the shading, with the project set to go online in 2025.
