ABB to boost Canaries, Balearic grids

Red Eléctrica's subsidiary, Redeia's subsidiary Red Eléctrica, has awarded ABB four orders for synchronous condensers (SC) to strengthen the electricity grid in the Canary and Balearic Islands, as part of Spain's energy transition goals. ABB's integrated solution aims to increase grid stability and reliability as renewable energy integration rises to meet PNIEC objectives.
