Acciona Energia bags 48.1-MWp EaaS solar project for Viscofan in Spain

Spanish food casings and packaging manufacturer Viscofan SA has selected Acciona Energia to install a 48.1-MWp solar photovoltaic self-consumption system at its facilities in the region of Navarre, northern Spain. The system will be one of the largest industrial solar self-consumption installations in Spain. Acciona Energia will provide energy-as-a-service to Viscofan's facilities in the town of Caseda. The electricity generated by the solar arrays will be used to power electric boilers at the facility, resulting in a 50,306-tonne reduction in carbon dioxide emissions annually.
