ACEN, Aussie partner get enviro nod for 150-MW solar project

The Western Australian government has approved a 150-MW solar project in the Pilbara region. The project is part of a larger plan to add 3-GW of wind, solar, and battery storage capacity in Western Australia. It involves ACEN Corp and Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation. Yindjibarndi aims to have 750 MW of renewable energy under construction. Rio Tinto has partnered with YAC to explore renewable energy opportunities. YAC and ACEN have a land use deal for 750 MW of solar and energy storage capacity.
