ACP: US adds 4.6GW of solar in Q1 2024, total installed capacity reaches 100GW

The US added 4,557MW of solar capacity in Q1 2024, with 111 utility-scale solar, battery energy storage system (BESS), and wind projects commissioned. The largest project, Lumina project in Texas, added 828MW. Solar accounted for 81.6% of new additions. US had 269.9GW of renewables capacity by the end of Q1 2024, with wind, solar, and BESS making up the majority. The renewables pipeline in the US increased to 174GW, with Texas having the highest capacity. PPAs for solar and BESS have significantly increased.
