Ireland could host Europe’s first large-scale iron-air project in Donegal County. FuturEnergy Ireland plans a 10 MW facility capable of storing 1 GWh of energy. Coillte and ESB joint venture submitted a planning application for Ballynahone Energy Storage. US-based Form Energy will supply iron-air battery technology for energy discharging up to 100 hours.
