Akaysha secures USD 163m in debt for 700 MWh of Aussie BESS

Akaysha Energy Pty Ltd, backed by BlackRock Inc, has secured AUD 250 million in debt financing for building two battery energy storage systems in Queensland, Australia. The projects, named Ulinda Park and Brendale, will utilize Powin Battery and Tesla Megapack technologies respectively and are aimed at servicing the National Electricity Market.
