Alinta, Parkwind seek permit for 1-GW Aussie offshore wind project

Alinta Energy and Parkwind have submitted a feasibility licence application for their Spinifex offshore wind project in Victoria, Australia. The partners aim to assess the potential and viability of their proposal for the Southern Ocean zone. The project plans to power an aluminium smelter in Portland with renewable power. Parkwind's co-CEO mentioned work on environmental surveys, wind monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.
