Aluminium-polymer battery for stationary electricity storage

TU Bergakademie Freiberg has made significant progress in developing an aluminum battery featuring aluminum anode, graphite cathode, and polymer-based electrolyte. The first prototype with a 1 Wh capacity is to be validated for industrial production with funding from Saxony state ministry and ERDF. The aim is to achieve a 10 kWh capacity for stationary power storage, competing with lithium-ion batteries.
