Aluminium producer AMAG seals 18-MW wind PPA in Austria

AMAG Austria Metall AG, based in Ranshofen, Upper Austria, has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement with Vienna-based ImWind Erneuerbare Energie GmbH to source wind power for its headquarters. This deal, covering 20% of its annual electricity needs, supports AMAG's decarbonisation efforts and prepares for increased electricity demand. The electricity will be generated by three new wind turbines to be operational by end-2024. CEO Helmut Kaufmann emphasized the partnership's role in contributing to climate protection.
