‘You can’t stop at the door of the lab’ – EU PVSEC 2024

French scientist Daniel Lincot emphasized the importance of solar energy development beyond the lab. EU PVSEC brought together 1,800 individuals from 60 countries to discuss the advancements in PV industry and research. Topics included reaching higher cell efficiencies, deploying PV in various sectors, and integrating PV generated electricity into networks. Discussions also focused on actionable ideas for faster energy transition and the potential for Europe to be carbon neutral by 2050. Challenges in European manufacturing were highlighted, indicating the need for increased policy support and innovation to remain competitive.
