Argentina's government has incorporated five renewable projects, including three solar arrays, into the national Argentine Interconnection System (SADI) in the first quarter of this year. The projects, totaling 78.71 MW, are located in the province of San Juan. The country's cumulative PV capacity reached 1,104 MW by the end of 2022 and should now stand at 1,184 MW. With around 5 GW of operational renewable energy capacity connected to its grid at the end of March, Argentina covered 12.1% of its electricity demand in the first quarter. The renewable generation sector achieved a milestone on February 19, 2023, providing 32.2% of the electricity demand, surpassing the previous record of 31.3% from Oct. 8, 2022.
