Australia’s Genex Power acquired by J-Power in deal worth AUS$351 million

Genex Power, a renewable energy and storage developer in Australia, has been acquired by Japanese power company J-Power for AUS$351 million. The acquisition includes projects like the 50MW Kidston solar project and the 200MW Kidston Stage-3 Wind Project in Queensland. J-Power also acquired a 50% interest in the Bulli Creek solar-plus-storage project. Geread Dooley from MinterEllison highlighted the significance of Japanese investment in Australia's energy sector.
