Australia’s largest transmission project reaches major milestones

The AUD 2.3 billion EnergyConnect project, an interconnector between New South Wales and South Australia with a spur link to Victoria, has reached two major construction milestones. The first 220 kV section of the new Buronga substation has been connected, allowing power flow across the backbone of EnergyConnect. This critical project aims to enhance energy accessibility and security by enabling the transfer of renewable energy between states.
