AusNet has started work on an 'islandable' microgrid in Corryong, Australia. The microgrid integrates a 4.99 MW / 5.2 MWh battery energy storage system, rooftop solar systems, residential batteries, and 3 MW of diesel generation to power Corryong during network outages. It is forecast to be completed by early 2026 and will provide power to over 900 households and businesses for up to five days. The project received funding from federal and Victorian governments, as well as AusNet.
