Australian developer plans 2 GW renewables project

Australian renewables developer Squadron Energy is planning to develop the 2 GW Koorakee Energy Park in New South Wales. The project will include 1 GW of PV generation, 1 GW of wind generation, and a 1 GW battery storage system. Squadron Energy aims to power up to one third of households in NSW with this project. The renewable energy park is scheduled to connect to the grid via new transmission infrastructure. Squadron Energy, owned by Andrew Forrest, has multiple renewable energy projects under development, including solar farms and a hydrogen electrolysis plant.
