The New England Solar Farm, operated by Acen Australia in New South Wales, covers 2,000 hectares and facilitates dual use with agriculture and renewable energy production. Over 6,000 sheep graze under about 1 million solar panels, benefiting from a new microclimate created by the panels. This environment provides protection and supports grass growth, potentially allowing for increased livestock capacity. Ongoing assessments will evaluate the project's long-term agrivoltaic benefits, including improvements in wool quality and drought resistance.
