Australian solar generation soars 21% in 2022-23 period

The Australian Energy Update (AEU) 2024, released by the Australian Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, highlights the significant growth of solar generation as the largest among renewable energy sources, surpassing wind and biogas. Solar accounted for 27.3% of all renewables, exceeding wind and hydro. Solar and wind energy consumption combined were 52% of all renewable energy in 2022–23, showing substantial growth over the past decade.
