Australian utility accelerates clean energy shift with 8 GW acquisition

AGL has entered into an agreement to acquire Sydney-based solar developer Terrain Solar and battery energy storage specialist Firm Power in a deal worth about AUD 250 million. The acquisition adds a significant amount of solar and battery storage capacity to AGL's portfolio, supporting its transition away from coal-fired power generation towards renewables. The development pipeline includes large-scale solar projects and grid-scale battery energy storage projects in various states of Australia.
