The BiReMiH2 project in southern Germany is investigating the potential of producing biohydrogen from organic residues using hyperthermophilic microorganisms and model-based gas quality sensors. Hyperthermics Regensburg is developing an automated screening process to determine the biohydrogen potential from biogenic residues.
