Southern Europe-focused independent power producer (IPP) BNZ inaugurated a pair of solar photovoltaic plants with a total capacity of 74 MW in Cadiz province, southern Spain. The generation complex, made up of the Alya and Alamak solar farms in the municipality of Alcala de los Gazules, is the first facility inaugurated by BNZ in Spain. Grupotec, a Spanish developer and engineering company, built the Alya and Alamak solar farms. BNZ's parent group Nuveen Infrastructure acquired a portfolio of solar projects from Grupotec. BNZ plans to install around 600 MWp in Spain by 2026 as part of its overall plan to put up over 1.7 GW of solar PV across Southern Europe by the end of 2026.
