Bulgaria gets 65 mln euro from EU for power grid upgrades

The European Commission has disbursed 65.2 million euro to Bulgaria for the reinforcement of its electricity transmission grid to support the integration of renewables. This funding is part of a larger 2.97 billion euro package allocated to 39 energy projects in ten EU member states through the European Union's Modernisation Fund. The Bulgarian project called Greenabler includes the reconstruction and upgrade of power lines and substations with an investment of 567.7 million euro.
