The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) granted $1.5 million to fund the feasibility study for Bulgaria's East-West energy corridor. The project aims to connect the electricity transmission systems of multiple countries in Europe to increase renewable energy capacity. This initiative is crucial for achieving decarbonization goals and green transformation. The feasibility study will be conducted by the consulting firm Black and Veatch to demonstrate the necessity of building new electricity transmission lines.
