Bulgarian gas firms to make green hydrogen, mix it into gas grid

The Bulgarian Natural Gas Association (BAPG) plans to produce green hydrogen and mix it into the gas grid to utilize excess renewable electricity. Countries like Germany and the Netherlands are repurposing their gas transmission networks for hydrogen. Chief Executive Officer of Overgas and Chairman of BAPG Svetoslav Ivanov prefers decentralized production. State-owned gas operator Bulgartransgaz is working on introducing a mixture with hydrogen. E.ON Romania successfully tested supplying homes with a hydrogen mixture.
