Canadian Solar Q1 2024 module shipment drops 20%, quarterly net income improves

Canadian Solar, a Chinese solar manufacturing giant, reported a net income of US$12.4 million in the first quarter of 2024. The company's quarterly module shipment decreased by more than 20% but showed an improvement in net income. They are focusing on profitable growth, expanding market share, and witnessing signs of improvement in markets. Shawn Qu is the chairman and CEO. Subsidiaries like Recurrent Energy and CSI Solar also contributed to the company's development pipeline and manufacturing capacity expansions. Canadian Solar is expected to have total module shipments in the range of 35GW to 40GW in 2024.
