Chile news: AES gets green light for hybrid plant, setback for Oenergy’s standalone project

AES Andes has received an environmental permit for its Pampas Hybrid Park in Chile which combines wind, solar, and a BESS. AES plans to invest US$800 million in the project. Oenergy faced setbacks for their standalone BESS project due to concerns about water quality impact. The projects reflect the growing grid-scale energy storage market in Chile.
