Chinese PV Industry Brief: Cumulative PV capacity tops 670 GW

China deployed 14.37 GW of solar in April 2024, with newly installed PV capacity reaching 60.5 GW in the January-April period. By the end of April, China's cumulative installed power generation capacity was approximately 3.01 TW, with solar accounting for around 670 GW of the total. Total installed wind power capacity reached 460 GW. Huasun announced an order for 1 GW of HJT solar modules from China Datang Corp. QC Solar plans to invest $13 million to set up a subsidiary in Texas. Tesla held a groundbreaking ceremony for Tesla Megafactory Shanghai, which will produce 10,000 Megapacks per year.
