Colombia's ANLA gets mandate to license renewables starting at 50 MW

Colombia's environmental watchdog ANLA to evaluate and license renewable energy projects above 50 MW starting October 2024. Recent decree adjusted licensing powers between ANLA and regional authorities for non-conventional renewable energy projects, aiming at streamlining the permitting process and accelerating renewable development in Colombia. ANLA to oversee an estimated 116 new projects with connection points. ANLA prepared the decree with the ministry of environment and other stakeholders. The regulation supports the government's target of 6 GW of renewable energy.
