Digital twin technologies for solar tracking in agrivoltaics

Researchers at Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Germany are applying deep learning techniques and digital twin modeling tools to optimize PV tracker control systems for use in agrivoltaics and biodiversity-optimized PV systems. The project, DeepTrack, is a collaboration between Zimmermann PV-Tracker and Fraunhofer ISE with the aim to develop a market-ready predictive control system. The research involves using artificial neural network deep learning techniques for tracker actions based on light requirements and grid feed-in tariffs.
