Drift Energy, a UK-based green energy yachts developer, has secured GBP 4.65 million in a seed funding round to support the construction of its first vessel. The company plans to develop high-performance sailing vessels that utilize deep ocean wind to produce green hydrogen at sea. The planned ship aims to have a rated power capacity of 1-2 MW and an output of 150,000 kilograms of green hydrogen. The funding will be used for the vessel design programme, team growth, and on-boarding new partners for the first keel laying in 2025.
