EDF starts construction of 102-MW wind farm in Scotland

Construction has started on the 20-turbine Stranoch wind farm in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The wind farm will supply clean energy to Tesco and BAE Systems. EDF Renewables UK is working with Vestas on turbine supply and installation. Tesco's PPA will power the equivalent of 80 supermarkets, while BAE Systems's contract will cover 40% of UK energy demand.
