Australian renewable energy developer Edify Energy plans to construct a 200MW solar PV farm near the Callide coal-fired power station in Central Queensland, Australia. The project will also include a 4-hour duration 200MW/800MWh battery energy storage system. Edify has completed planning and environmental assessments for the project. The solar facility will incorporate agriPV by testing co-location of grazing with sheep. The EU's Joint Research Centre states potential for 944GW of agrivoltaics on 1% of its utilised farmland. The project aims to provide power to Banana Shire and Central Queensland via the National Electricity Market's transmission network.
