Australian renewable energy developer Edify Energy is planning to construct and operate a 200MW solar PV farm near the Callide coal-fired power station in Central Queensland, Australia. The project will also include a 200MW/800MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The aim is to incorporate agriPV by co-locating sheep grazing with the solar facility to provide ongoing agricultural use of the land. The project will have a lifespan of approximately 50 years and will provide power to the Banana Shire and Central Queensland. The BESS component will store excess energy and support the grid during peak demand.
