Australian renewable energy developer Edify Energy is proposing to construct a 200MW solar PV farm near the Callide coal-fired power station in Central Queensland, Australia. The project will also include a 4-hour duration 200MW/800MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at a site located near Biloela. Edify has completed planning for the project, and Banana Shire Council has granted development approval. The project will incorporate agriPV by co-locating solar panels with grazing sheep. The solar panels will be mounted on single-axis trackers to maximize energy generation. The project aims to provide power to the Banana Shire and Central Queensland through an interconnection to the National Electricity Market’s transmission network.
