Australian renewable energy developer Edify Energy is proposing to construct and operate a 200MW solar PV farm with a 4-hour duration 200MW/800MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) near the Callide coal-fired power station in Central Queensland, Australia. The project will incorporate agriPV technology and initially house up to 49 sheep for co-location with the solar facility. The EU's Joint Research Centre (JRC) published findings on the potential of agrivoltaics. The solar panels will be mounted on single-axis trackers. The BESS will store excess energy and support the grid. The project aims to provide power to Banana Shire and Central Queensland.
