Australian renewable energy developer Edify Energy is proposing a 200MW solar PV farm near the Callide coal-fired power station in Central Queensland, Australia. The project will incorporate a 4-hour duration 200MW/800MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). Edify has completed planning and environmental assessments for the project, with final approval from Banana Shire Council. The solar facility will also support agricultural use of the land through agriPV, with grazing and co-location of sheep. The project aims to maximize energy generation through single-axis trackers and provide power to the Banana Shire and Central Queensland via the National Electricity Market's transmission network.
